Educational Technology and Student Performance: A Systematic Review

The digital transformation of educational systems requires an evaluation the effects integration technologies in teaching-learning processes. From a pedagogical approach, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are defined, on one hand, as set that contain, store disseminate information (e.g., e-books, videos, or databases) and, other those designed for short-term communication social networks smartphones). Academic achievement is most widely used variables to try understand how affect student learning outcomes. Several international studies have shown little improvement performance attributed use ICT, although reviews positive results relation certain curricular areas. However, general, research inconclusive more needed this complex relationship. A systematic review was carried out using Education Resources Center (ERIC) database documentary source, articles academic ICT were selected ( n = 100). As result, there evidence improved practices enriched with ICT. Mathematics science areas greatest interest researchers, it observed oriented toward competitiveness selectivity productive field. discrepancies between “macro-studies” organizations “micro-studies” analyzed discussed.
